ComCut
Current Version: 1.2 Build 89
Released February 17, 2008
ComCut was written to allow me to stream recorded TV shows from my PC to my TV without commercials. I use a Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-150 with GB-PVR. GB-PVR supports an application called Comskip that scans the recorded video for commercial segments.
ComCut uses the list of commercial segments from Comskip to create a new copy of the recorded show without any commercials. ComCut is currently only designed and tested to work with GB-PVR and Comskip.
Using ComCut
To use ComCut on an MPEG-2 recording, run the following command:
comcut "filename.mpg"
If you are using GB-PVR, place the following command in postprocessing.bat:
comcut %1
ComCut can be configured to run Comskip itself if you haven't put comskip in your postprocessing.bat file or configured GB-PVR to run comskip while the show is recording.
